Electric scooter rentals

In Torrevieja, it's a good idea to rent an electric scooter for short trips.

To rent an electric scooter, you must install the appropriate app on your phone, connect a credit card, and pay for the scooter per minute.

Scooters are usually parked in parking lots, which you can find through the app.

IMPORTANT!

Remember that there are rules for riding electric scooters, violations of which can result in a fine!

Here are the basic rules:

 

  • Riding an electric scooter is only for those over 16 years of age.

  • Do not use headphones, mobile phones or handheld systems.

  • Do not walk on sidewalks, pedestrian areas or parks

  • Helmet and insurance are highly recommended

  • It is forbidden to be towed by other vehicles.

  • Only one occupant

  • It is prohibited to drive a vehicle while intoxicated or under the influence of narcotics or psychotropic substances.

  • At night or in low visibility conditions, use yellow headlights, red taillights, front and rear reflectors, and a rear brake light.

  • Drive on the shoulder. If there isn't one, drive on the right side of the road as close as possible to the direction of travel.

  • Bicycle lanes may be used as long as the VMP does not exceed 20 km/h.

  • You must not drive in the wrong direction; you must obey stop signs, yield signs, no-way signs, and pedestrian crossings.

  • Speed regulations, right of way, and other traffic regulations must be observed.

  • Drive with the necessary diligence and caution to avoid risks and damage to yourself or others, and avoid endangering other users.

  • Under no circumstances may traffic be used on interurban roads.

The sanctions that may be applied are:

 

Driving in the pedestrian zone: €80

Driving without any lighting at night or in low or reduced visibility conditions: €200

Driving with more than one occupant: €90

Driving while being dragged by another vehicle: €90

Driving while under 16 years of age: €80

Driving with drugs in your system: €1,000

Driving with an alcohol level higher than the legal limit: €500

Refusing breathalyzer tests: €1,000

Refusal to take drug tests: €1,000

Failure to respect pedestrian priority: €200

Failure to respect the priority of another vehicle: €90

Parking on sidewalks, pavements, and pedestrian or bicycle lanes: €80

Failure to obey mandatory signs (STOP, Yield, etc.): €80

Failure to obey prohibition signs (no entry, no parking, etc.): €80

Failure to comply with officer signals: €200

Failure to respect a red light: €200
