The 71st International Habanera and Polyphony Contest will be held from 20 to 26 July 2025 in the emblematic Municipal Theatre of Torrevieja. This prestigious event, which has become an established tradition since its foundation in 1955, will bring together choirs from all over the world to compete and share the beauty of choral music.
The competition places special emphasis on the habanera, a musical genre of Cuban origin that has been adapted and popularised in Spain, characterised by its slow and nostalgic rhythm. In addition, the participants will also perform polyphonic pieces, showing the richness and diversity of choral music with multiple independent voices.
For one week, Torrevieja will become the epicentre of international choral music, with competition and exhibition concerts that will delight the audience. The event not only stands out for its musical quality, but also for its ability to unite people from different cultures through music, strengthening cultural ties between Spain and the rest of the world.

As for the entrance fees, this year's season tickets and tickets have been fixed as follows:
– 50 € general season ticket
- 25 € season ticket for pensioners
- 15 € general admission from 21 to 26 July
- 4 € pensioner from 21st to 26th of July
- 8 € general admission from 21 to 26 July 2024
Tickets can be purchased on the website www.habaneras.org in the box office section or at the box office of the Municipal Theatre of Torrevieja. Tickets will be available from row 16 onwards, as these are previously occupied by season ticket holders. Season tickets will be available from 1 July..
