About the event
This coming Sunday, 18 January, La Mata will become a meeting point for lovers of gastronomy and traditions with the celebration of International Iberian Product Day, an event that will pay tribute to one of the great icons of Spanish cuisine.
The event will begin at 12:00 noon in the Plaza Encarnación Puchol, where residents and visitors can enjoy a day marked by a lively atmosphere, music and good food. The initiative is organised by the Peña del Cochino, with the collaboration of Torrevieja Town Council.
Throughout the morning and part of the afternoon, attendees will be able to sample meat, bread and beer, as well as take part in a ham raffle, one of the main attractions of the celebration. Musical entertainment will be provided by DJs and brass bands, who will bring rhythm and fun to an event designed for all audiences.
Beyond its festive nature, this event aims to promote the culture of Iberian products, a symbol of Spanish tradition, quality and gastronomic excellence, as well as fostering neighbourly coexistence in an open, participatory and family-friendly environment.
