Pau Casals was forced into exile in the south of France after the Spanish Civil War.
With all his resources and great determination, he devoted himself to helping thousands of his compatriots crammed into nearby labour camps.
In 1943, under Nazi occupation, the musical genius received a disturbing invitation to play before the Führer.
Casals knew that refusing to do so could have terrible consequences.
