Throughout the year, Torrevieja offers a programme of free guided nature walks to explore some of the municipality’s most important natural areas, such as the Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja Natural Park and the Molino del Agua Municipal Nature Reserve

About the event
Throughout the year, Torrevieja offers a program of free guided eco-routes to discover some of the most important natural spaces in the municipality, such as the La Mata and Torrevieja Lagoons Natural Park and the Molino del Agua Municipal Natural Area .
These routes allow you to discover the biodiversity of the park, the history of the salt flats and the unique landscapes of the southern coast of Alicante.
Available routes:
The great secret of the lagoon
Interpretive route through the Laguna de La Mata , where the ecosystems of the natural park, the flora, the fauna and the history of the salt flats are explained.
Birdwatching Route
Excursion dedicated to birdwatching to discover the birds of the natural park, one of the most important wetlands in the Mediterranean for bird migration.
La Mata, vineyards between lagoons and the sea
A stroll through the traditional vineyards of La Mata , combining nature, landscape and the agricultural history of the area.
Water Mill – Route through the dune system
Tour of the Molino del Agua Natural Area , where you can learn about the dune ecosystem and the typical vegetation of the Mediterranean coast.
Night route on the lagoon (summer)
During the summer months, night tours are organized to discover the natural park at sunset and learn about the wildlife that appears when the sun goes down.
The routes take place on different dates throughout the year and require prior registration .
