In July, Torrevieja will celebrate the traditional festivities of the Virgin of Carmen, patron saint of sailors and fishermen, one of the most beloved and iconic celebrations of the Torrevieja summer.

In July, Torrevieja will celebrate the traditional festivities of the Virgin of Carmen, patron saint of sailors and fishermen, one of the most beloved and iconic celebrations of the Torrevieja summer.
Over the course of several days, the town will host a range of religious, culinary and community events organised by the Fishermen’s Guild and Torrevieja Town Council.
The programme will include:
Masses in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
wreath
religious procession
children's entertainment
charity meal
paella competition with a brass band
traditional maritime maypole
Music target
musical performances
tribute to local musicians
fireworks displays
The main events will take place at the Fish Market, in the town centre and on the Paseo Vista Alegre, next to Torrevieja harbour.
The evening of 16 July will be the highlight of the festivities, featuring the solemn ceremonies dedicated to the patron saint of the sea and the traditional fireworks display overlooking the Mediterranean.
