In Orihuela (Alicante Province), police conducted a large-scale operation in late November 2025, uncovering a group cultivating cannabis in indoor plantations. Hundreds of plants were discovered, and drugs and weapons were seized. Thirteen people were arrested—eight men and five women, aged between 23 and 66.
Residents reportedly complained of a strong odor and the noise of fans coming from private homes, which aroused suspicion. In addition to marijuana, police also found cocaine and weapons, and freed five dogs that had been kept in cruel conditions.
The case has been referred to court, and the investigation is ongoing. This arrest was one of the largest in recent months in Vega Baja.
