AEMET: Orange warning for rain and storms in the Valencian Community

The Spanish National Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued an orange alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in the southern part of Valencia province and northern Alicante, including the Vega Baja del Segura.
According to AEMET, the meteorological emergency is linked to a front formed by the Borrasca "Emilia" storm, moving over northern Africa and approaching the east coast of Spain.

• The alert is activated on Sunday, December 14, 2025,
• and will be in effect from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM (night of December 15).
🔹 What to expect:
• Heavy rainfall and showers, which can be intense for short periods;
• Thunderstorms with localized easterly and northeasterly wind gusts are possible;
• There is a risk of rough seas and strong swells along the coasts of the provinces of Valencia and Alicante;
These conditions pose a significant risk to land transport, outdoor events, and maritime navigation. It is recommended to avoid unnecessary travel, check drainage channels and roofs, ensure the safety of embankments and coastal areas, and monitor AEMET bulletins for real-time updates.
