During the day, police carried out two separate operations in the municipality of Orihuela Costa, resulting in the arrest of two men in connection with different criminal incidents involving car break-ins and threats with a bladed weapon.


Car break-ins in La Zenia

In the first operation, officers arrested a 30-year-old man suspected of a series of thefts from parked vehicles. According to preliminary information, personal belongings were stolen from inside cars. Investigators are examining the possible use of electronic devices to interfere with vehicle locking systems, a line of inquiry that is still under investigation.The suspect remains in police custody while statements are collected and evidence is analysed.


Knife threats on Calle Escorpio

The second operation took place on Calle Escorpio, in another area of Orihuela Costa, where a 53-year-old man was arrested for making threats with a bladed weapon.Police reported that the swift response of the Local Police prevented the incident from escalating and no serious injuries were recorded. The suspect was taken to a police station and the case will be referred to the courts.

Both operations were conducted by the Orihuela Local Police, which has confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations are ongoing. Once completed, the case files will be forwarded to the public prosecutor to determine the appropriate judicial measures.

  • The 53-year-old suspect is being held on charges related to knife threats.
