Torrevieja is enjoying a fantastic cultural weekend – over three days, at least 5,000 spectators will be attending six major events on the stages of the Municipal Theatre and the International Auditorium. The municipal Department of Culture announced this.
Here are the six key events that made up the program and caused quite a stir:
1. DJ Symphonic & Royal Concert Orchestra
— Friday evening (November 21, 8:00 PM) at the Torrevieja Auditorium. This symphonic-electronic show featured a DJ and orchestra performing popular hits from Coldplay, Avicii, Daft Punk, Queen, and others. The program is designed to "enchant both classical music lovers and club music enthusiasts."
— Due to high demand, a second date has been scheduled for April 2026.
2. XIX Flamenco Meeting "Ciudad de Torrevieja"
— also on Friday at the Municipal Theatre (8:00 PM). This traditional event features renowned performers: singer Miguel de Tena (Lampa Minor laureate), singer Rócio Martínez, guitarists Juan Antonio Matejos, Domingo Muníoz "El Parra," and Antonio Patricio, and dancers Fran Serrano and Blanca Herreros.
This is the region's signature flamenco festival, which has been an important platform for the genre for almost 20 years.
3. Flamenco & Sal – "Flamenco y Compás"
— Saturday, November 22, in the Auditorium Gardens (starts at 12:30 PM, opens at 11:30 AM).
Performers: singer Abraham Chasquio, guitarist Juan Moreno, dancers Martina "La Ibizenca" and Bella Martínez.
— Tickets include a wine or cava tasting, a food area with food samples, and a "Spain Tasting Box" for €15 (advance purchase required).
4. Santa Cecilia Concert – UMT
— Sunday, November 23, at the Teatro Municipal at 12:00 PM.
— This is the annual tribute to Saint Cecilia, the patron saint of musicians, from the Torrevieja Music Association (UMT).
— This year's concert is dedicated to maestro Francisco Casanovas, and Armando Bernabéu will be guest conductor.
5. Harry On Ice
— Two shows on Sunday (November 23): at 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, on the ice of the Auditorium.
— An international production: circus, acrobatics, theatrical elements, and figure skating. The narrative is inspired by J.K. Rowling's universe: Hogwarts scenes, Quidditch matches, magic, and a ball.
— Visual effects, lighting, and music create an immersive show suitable for the whole family.
6. Gala in Memory of "Pepperrin"
— also Sunday, November 23, at 6:30 PM, at the Teatro Municipal.
— Organized by AFECÁNCER in honor of José Miguel Gómez del Olmo, better known as "Pepperrin."
— Peperrin is a legendary figure in Torrevieja: a murgue composer, author of habaneras, and founder of the bands Noray, La Alegría, and others.
— Admission: €10 donation to support the association.
Organizers call these record numbers and emphasize that the variety of formats—from symphonic-electro shows to ice circus and flamenco—attracts a variety of audiences: music lovers, classical artists, dance enthusiasts, and family entertainment enthusiasts.
• Such a diverse cultural offering reinforces Torrevieja's status as the cultural center of the coast.
• The success of the events proves that residents and tourists are willing to engage in "high culture" when it is presented in a fresh and original way.
• High attendance is an important argument for funding such projects: the city can count on its cultural investments to pay off through attracting both the public and tourists.
