Fire in the green zone of Orihuela Costa

Yesterday, 11th May, a fire of considerable magnitude broke out in Las Ramblas de Oleza in Orihuela Costa. The fire engulfed a large part of the green area, filling the area with thick smoke.

Firefighters managed to stabilise the fire at around 21.00 hours.

The fire damaged approximately 3 hectares of green spaces and affected five homes, damaging the exterior of the buildings.

The cause of the fire is not yet known. Residents blame the authorities for neglected green areas, unpruned palm trees and bushes that have not been trimmed for years..
