Five people arrested in Almoradí in connection with a series of thefts

In the municipality of Almoradí (Vega Baja del Segura region, Alicante province), police officers arrested five individuals suspected of a series of shoplifting and vehicle thefts.

The operation was carried out jointly by municipal police and other law enforcement agencies. Investigators determined that the group operated throughout the city, committing thefts from businesses and vehicles. The names of those arrested and the amount of damages are being withheld pending investigation.

Police officials stated that the arrests were the result of enhanced crime monitoring and increased patrols in the Almoradí area. Authorities noted an increase in security activity and emphasized that such operations will continue.

Previously, according to Información, seven more individuals were arrested in Almoradí in July 2025 as part of a special law enforcement operation. According to El Español, Vega Baja has one of the highest crime rates in the province of Alicante: in Torrevieja, 22.16 crimes per thousand inhabitants were recorded in the first quarter of 2025.
