The traditional lighting of the Christmas tree in the Plaza de la Constitución in Torrevieja will take place next Sunday, December 1st at 6:00 p.m.
According to the Torrevieja City Council, according to tradition, since 2002, Erik Persson has given the city of Torrevieja a fir tree from Sweden, which symbolises the gratitude of the northern community towards the people of Torrevieja for the friendship, tolerance and warm welcome that they have always given them.
The lighting ceremony will begin with a mass at 4:00 p.m. in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, followed by the lighting of the Christmas tree at 6:00 p.m., which will be attended by the Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the Councillor for International Residents, Gitte Lund, the Consul of Sweden in Torrevieja, Björn Sandström, and the priest of the Swedish Church, Hakon Toresson.
