Man dies after being injured in a robbery in Torrevieja

The Judicial Police of the Civil Guard has taken over the investigation.

Civil Guard officers are investigating a robbery committed on a public street in the Alicante town of Torrevieja. The victim, a 31-year-old man, was injured and died after being hospitalized, according to sources from the Civil Guard confirmed to Europa Press.

The robbery occurred last Friday, October 3, at around 4:00 a.m., according to the same sources and reported by 'Información'.

The victim received treatment "due to the violence suffered during the robbery," and was eventually admitted to the Torrevieja General University Hospital, according to the Civil Guard.

The death of the 31-year-old Swedish man was confirmed this Tuesday. The incident is being investigated by the Torrevieja Civil Guard's Territorial Judicial Police Team to determine the circumstances.
