More than 19 million euros allocated to investment in the construction and modernization of educational centers in Torrevieja

The President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, announced during his visit to Torrevieja with the Mayor, Eduardo Dolón, an investment of more than 19 million euros in education for the construction of preschools and primary schools No. 14 and No. 15, which are currently located in prefabricated classrooms, as well as the construction of the new IES No. 6 "Eras de la Sal," which is also located in prefabricated classrooms, and the comprehensive renovation of the "Las Lagunas" Secondary School.

The head of the Consell highlighted the excellent collaboration between both administrations to work together and fulfill the investments the town needs in the educational area. The Local Government Board on April 17 approved the provision of three municipal plots to the Generalitat for the construction of these new educational centers in Torrevieja.

Carlos Mazón has announced that in the coming weeks, the Regional Minister of Education, along with his team, will travel to Torrevieja to specify the educational initiatives to be implemented to meet all the city's needs.

It should be noted that Torrevieja has a school-age population of 16,363 students, with an increase in the school population of more than 50% between 2019 and 2025, a figure far higher than the relative population growth and that of other towns in the Valencian Community.
