Spain's position on banning internal combustion engines

ree

The Spanish government has opposed relaxing the planned ban on sales of internal combustion engine vehicles from 2035 as part of EU policy.

The authorities believe that maintaining the strict deadline is necessary to achieve climate goals and develop electric mobility. Spain's position has been officially submitted to European institutions.

The issue remains a subject of discussion between EU countries and the auto industry.
