This Wednesday, a 17-year-old girl committed suicide in Torrevieja. Her body was discovered at her home. A relative notified the Civil Guard at midday, and at 6:00 PM, the body was taken to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Alicante for an autopsy. A preliminary investigation has ruled out any evidence of bullying, although the case is still open, and no one is ready to make definitive statements.
Civil Guard sources told this newspaper that there is no evidence of third-party involvement or violence. Everything points to suicide. There also appears to be no clear evidence at this time that anything or anyone pushed the teenager to commit suicide. In other words, based on the information currently available, it is ruled out that she was subjected to bullying or similar incidents at the school she attended.
The minor attended IES Mediterráneo Secondary School. The parents' association and school administration are asking for caution. "The school is using all available resources; "We have their full trust and hope that they can make this difficult time more bearable for the entire community," they said in various WhatsApp groups.
