The seven paddle tennis courts and two frontenis courts at the Torrevieja Sports Complex have reopened to the public, along with the new access control system to the facilities and a new café.
The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, highlighted the significant public investment made by the Torrevieja Council in sports infrastructure over the last six years, amounting to more than €20 million, noting that the short-term plan is to build a new 25 m² heated swimming pool and renovate the Cecilio Gallego sports hall. a4>and the refurbishment of the Cecilio Gallego sports hall.
It should be noted that the seven panoramic padel courts are adapted to the World Padel Tour (WPT) and comply with the regulations established by the Spanish Padel Federation, with the central stands equipped with fixed plastic seats and the creation of a fully accessible route for all users via a ramp, which connects the three areas located at different levels.
Likewise, the two frontenis courts at the Sports Complex have been repaired, with the current lighting being replaced by more energy-efficient fixtures, the perimeter fencing being replaced, the repaired courts being repainted, and the current access points being replaced by larger ones to allow machinery to enter for maintenance work. In addition, the toilets and changing rooms located next to the municipal gym have been completely refurbished.
The current access control located on Avenida de Delfina Viudes has also been replaced by a larger one that will reconfigure access to the sports complex, allowing entry to the facility to be controlled on both sides of the current access point and enabling the installation of two workstations for staff.
Finally, a café has been built on the esplanade between the gym and the paddle tennis courts, complementing the sports facilities with a large outdoor terrace area, which will provide users and their families with a pleasant place for leisure and recreation.
