Three men on trial in Elche for selling drugs through a fruit shop in Torrevieja
The Provincial Court of Alicante, in its Elche section, has begun the trial of three men accused of selling drugs using a fruit shop in Torrevieja as a front.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, two of the defendants — brothers — allegedly organized a drug distribution scheme, using the commercial premises as a cover for sales. The preparation and storage of the substances reportedly took place at one of the brothers’ residences.
The third defendant is accused of acting as a lookout and coordinator, monitoring the surroundings and maintaining contact with buyers.
The prosecution classifies the case as a crime against public health and membership in a criminal group. It is seeking eight years of imprisonment for each of the brothers and five years for the third defendant.
The trial remains ongoing.
