Torrevieja

Torrevieja City Council approved two street-lighting upgrade projects on the CV-905 and in Nueva Torrevieja, aimed at improving energy efficiency and road safety as part of the municipal infrastructure renewal plan.

The historic schooner Pascual Flores (1917) is berthed at the Torrevieja marina and open to visitors until 1 February. The vessel is a key element of the town’s maritime heritage and cultural offer.

At FITUR 2026, Torrevieja is promoting its cultural, sports and tourism assets to strengthen its international visibility as a year-round destination.

Province of Alicante

On 29 January, farmers’ associations led by ASAJA Alicante staged a tractor protest. Convoys departed from Elche (Estadio Martínez Valero area) and other points in Vega Baja, crossed central Alicante and caused traffic congestion while calling for changes in agricultural policy.

Orihuela

The municipal group Cambiemos Orihuela submitted a motion at the City Council plenary session addressing housing policy. The proposal highlights the high number of vacant homes and calls for measures to activate unused housing and strengthen municipal involvement in housing management.

Almoradí

The municipality of Almoradí installed mini selective waste-collection points. Collection takes place on Saturdays, from 07:30 to 15:00, at the Pabellón Venancio Costa parking area.

Los Montesinos

Los Montesinos hosted the 23rd Bajo Segura University Theatre Days “Remedios Muñoz Hernández”, with participation from university theatre groups and students across the region.

Dolores

The municipality of Dolores confirmed the Spain ABRE Double Show, an international Bully dog championship scheduled for 31 January 2026, organised with municipal support as part of the local sports and leisure programme.
