Torrevieja Carnival 2026: Competition Rules Published

ree

The organizers of the Torrevieja Carnival have announced that the official rules for participation in the 2026 Carnival competitions are now publicly available on the association's website.

According to the published rules:

• A parade of local participants will take place on Friday, February 13, 2026, through the streets of the city.

• The national Murga and Chirigota competition is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Torrevieja International Hall.

The organizers invite everyone—both experienced groups and new participants—to join the celebration, preparing costumes, songs, and vibrant compositions. The Carnival is traditionally renowned for its friendly spirit, creativity, and shared enthusiasm—and 2026 promises to be one of the most vibrant yet.

It's worth remembering that in previous years, the Carnival has already established itself as a celebration that unites the entire city. 2025 saw a rich program: from the coronation of the Carnival Kings to night parades, murgas, theatrical performances, and massive street processions.

The grand opening ceremony was particularly memorable, with renowned comedian Jorge Cremades performing on the stage of the Municipal Theater, energizing the audience with a spirited welcome before the festivities began.

For residents and visitors of Torrevieja, this is a wonderful opportunity not just to observe but to become part of the carnival: to use their imagination, bond with neighbors, and immerse themselves in an atmosphere of celebration, creativity, and joy.

Follow the updates on the official website: the rules for participation are available now. Get your costumes ready—and perhaps your group will be the star of Carnival 2026.
