Torrevieja joined the international events dedicated to the Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, organizing a cultural program centered on the performance of "Mi tercer acto." City officials emphasized that this year's choice of art was no accident: theater allows us to address complex topics not through declarative statements, but through personal stories and emotional experiences.
"Mi tercer acto" is a dramatic production that, through monologues and stage sketches, reveals the journey of a woman who has experienced violence and gone through the process of reclaiming her identity. The work combines elements of documentary theater and artistic interpretation, creating a space for dialogue about psychological trauma, stigma, and overcoming. According to the organizers, the production was chosen for its "honesty, conciseness, and ability to speak for thousands of women who find it difficult to be heard." The event was part of a city program that included lectures, meetings with psychologists, exhibitions dedicated to female identity, and a moment of silence in memory of all victims of gender-based violence. Municipal representatives noted that the goal of such initiatives is not only to honor their memory but also to raise awareness and draw attention to a problem that remains pressing throughout the country.
The organizers emphasized that the fight against violence is not a symbolic act performed once a year, but an ongoing collaborative effort between society, educational institutions, and law enforcement. The performance served as a reminder that every personal story is part of a collective responsibility.
