ree

Torrevieja City Council has approved a tender for the development of an underground parking project and the renovation of Plaza Encarnación Puchol in the La Mata neighborhood. According to the terms, the parking lot will occupy 3,802 m² and accommodate 126 cars; the total area of improvements will exceed 4,500 m². The budget for the preliminary and detailed design is €217,512.43 (including VAT), and the completion period is six months. Following this, a tender for the construction concession will be announced.

The renovation includes more than just parking; it also includes road surface renovation, landscaping, new pedestrian areas, a playground, improved access to shops and restaurants, and the installation and renovation of utilities and infrastructure. Mayor Eduardo Dolón called the project "a step towards improving mobility, the urban environment, and quality of life in La Mata."

As a reminder, the recently renovated Paseo del Mar Port Parking officially opened in April 2025. It offers 640 parking spaces, including charging points for electric vehicles and parking spaces for people with reduced mobility.

The City Council also approved a project in 2025 to create six park-and-ride parking lots on municipal land, totaling over 150,000 square meters.
