Torrevieja launches tender to operate iHub Torretech with base budget of €624,841 and total estimated value of €1.65 million

Torrevieja (Alicante), February 13, 2026. The City Council of Torrevieja has launched a public tender for the start-up and management of the new innovation hub iHub Torretech. The base contract value is €624,841.06 (VAT included), while the total estimated value with possible extensions reaches €1,654,139.61. The project complements a prior investment of more than €3.22 million in building rehabilitation.


Location of the center

The iHub Torretech will be housed in the renovated former La Purísima building and the Coral Francisco Vallejos facility. Municipal investment in rehabilitation works amounts to approximately €3,223,331.98 (VAT included), with an estimated completion time of 15 months.


Contract structure

— Initial duration: 2 years

— Possible extensions: up to 3 additional years

— Maximum duration: 5 years

— Two lots:

• Lot 1 — Technical office and strategic coordination

• Lot 2 — Talent accelerator and startup incubation programs (possible co-financing under FEDER 2021–2027)


Operator responsibilities

The selected contractor will be required to:

— activate and manage daily operations;— attract startups and technology companies;— implement training and mentorship programs;— connect with investors;— meet performance indicators defined by the municipality.


Economic context of Vega Baja

The initiative is part of Torrevieja’s strategy to diversify its economy and strengthen the regional innovation ecosystem. Ongoing population growth in Vega Baja increases demand for qualified employment and new entrepreneurial opportunities.
