The municipality of Dolores, in the Vega Baja del Segura region, is experiencing one of the most tragic events of recent years. The bodies of a Guardia Civil officer, his wife and their adult son were found inside the residential area of the Guardia Civil barracks. Investigators are treating the case as a possible family homicide followed by suicide.

According to Spanish media reports and the preliminary investigation, the victims were:

— a Guardia Civil officer around 55 years old,

— his 51-year-old wife,

— and their 24-year-old son.

The bodies were discovered this morning inside the official residence located within the barracks complex. All three had gunshot wounds. The main investigation hypothesis suggests that the man may have killed his wife and son before taking his own life.

The tragedy has deeply shocked local residents because the family had lived in Dolores for many years and was considered quiet and respectful. According to initial information, there had been no previous official reports of domestic violence.

Local authorities declared official mourning. Moments of silence were held in the town, and many residents admitted they were in shock.

The case has once again raised difficult questions in Spain about hidden family conflicts and the psychological condition of people who outwardly appear to live completely normal lives.

The Guardia Civil investigation remains ongoing.
