V16 Emergency Beacon: what to do after buying it and how to use it properly

What it is The V16 is an emergency warning beacon approved by the Spanish DGT as a safer alternative to the traditional warning triangle. Its purpose is to warn other drivers and reduce road risks.
Preparation (in advance)
Check whether the batteries are installed.
Briefly switch it on to test it:
no emergency signal is sent;
it is only a functional check.
Store the beacon inside the vehicle, ideally in the glove compartment, next to the reflective vest.
Use in case of breakdown or accident Recommended steps:
Put on the reflective vest.
Take the V16 from inside the vehicle.
Place it on the roof using the magnetic base.
Switch it on.
There is no need to step onto the roadway or place a triangle, significantly improving safety.
Connected V16 (DGT 3.0)
When activated, it automatically sends the vehicle’s location to the DGT system.
No registration or setup is required from the driver.
Driver obligations
The V16 does not replace calling 112 in a real emergency.
The driver must ensure the device is functional, accessible, and properly maintained.
