7th edition of the International Cocido Competition
The Department for Senior Citizens of Torrevieja Town Council, together with the Cocido con Pelotas Gastronomic Guild, is once again organising the International Cocido Competition, now in its seventh year.

About the event
The Department for Older People of the Torrevieja City Council, together with the Gastronomic Brotherhood of Cocido with Meatballs, is once again organizing the International Cocido Competition , which will be held for the seventh edition .
The competition will take place on Saturday, January 31st , at the Municipal Leisure Centre (CMO) , where around twenty participating teams will meet.
The following types of stew will be presented at the competition:
International Stew
Spanish regional stew
Traditional stew with meatballs
Authentic Torrevieja-style stew with meatballs
The International Stew Competition is open to all cooking enthusiasts over the age of 18 , regardless of profession or nationality. Participation can be individual or on behalf of an association, club, social center, or group of friends .
As this is an amateur competition , professional cooks will not be allowed to participate. However, they may participate in exhibitions or outside of the competition .
All participants will receive prizes and commemorative medals .
Registration will open on Thursday, January 15th at the offices of the Department for Senior Citizens , located at Calle Maldonado, 5 .
