The Department of Education of the City Council of Torrevieja announces the launch of the Digital Camp, a free educational initiative aimed at students aged 9 to 13 years, to be held this summer with the aim of promoting digital skills of the youngest in a fun, safe and responsible way.
A unique and free experience to learn technology
The Digital Camp will offer participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of technology through games, challenges and practical activities, adapted to their age and level. The programme is taught by specialised educators and takes place in safe spaces prepared to guarantee learning and fun.
Dates: JULY 21-25
Timetable: From 9:00 to 13:00 hours.
Ages: From 9 to 13 years old.
Price: 100% free of charge, thanks to institutional support and European funding.
At the end of the course, participants will receive an official DigComp certificate, endorsed by the European Union, which certifies the digital skills acquired..
What will children be able to learn?
Children participating in this digital camp will be able to detect fake news and search for reliable information on the Internet. They will be able to set up their first email and create presentations and videos, protect their privacy and manage their digital footprint, reflect on cyberbullying and promote respect on social networks, organise their digital time and discover healthy habits in the use of technology, as well as create their own video game, design audiovisual projects and take advantage of artificial intelligence as a personal assistant. All this in an environment of teamwork, creativity and new friendships, where technology is experienced and enjoyed in a positive and responsible way.

A commitment to inclusion and equal opportunities
The Digital Camp is promoted by the Fundación Cibervoluntarios, within the Digital Competences for Children Programme (CODI), funded by the European Union - NextGenerationEU and the Ministry of Youth and Children. Its aim is to ensure digital inclusion from childhood onwards and to give priority to those who are vulnerable or at risk of social exclusion.
